About Us
CdM Restaurant was founded by two Corona del Mar High School alums, Hollywood producer McG and restaurateur Jordan Otterbein. The duo, River Jetty Restaurant Group partners known for acclaimed A Restaurant and A Market in Newport Beach, California, opened CdM on March 9, 2019.
McG grew up in the arts, has built a career in music, film and television and along the way, has frequented and fallen in love with the Soho House “member’s club” concepts around the globe.
Inspired by the concept, he, along with the expertise of Otterbein, set out to create a restaurant with an elevated yet approachable environment that is visually creative and art driven while providing the highest quality of chef-inspired cuisine courtesy of their talented Executive Chef Elvis Morales.
With CdM, McG and Jordan strive to build an establishment that is deeply rooted in the community where all can come to enjoy incredible food and drink with friends, neighbors, colleagues, and family every day of the week—no membership required.
Our Team
Elvis Morales
Elvis Morales joined CdM Restaurant soon after it’s opening in March 2019 as Chef de Cuisine. He previously spent four years as a prep cook at A Restaurant during the day and as one of the top grill chefs at Mastro’s Steakhouse in the evening. Elvis is grateful for the opportunity to take on more responsibility at CdM and expand his creativity while implementing the restaurant’s commitment to using only the finest quality ingredients.
Born in Oaxaca, Mexico, Elvis could often be found in the kitchen sharing his love of food with his grandmother who taught him how to cook. After moving to California in 2000, Elvis began his culinary career as a dishwasher in an Italian restaurant. With two decades of experience in the restaurant industry, Elvis takes pride in his new role as Executive Chef of CdM and considers it to be one of his biggest achievements.
Matthew Hardeman
Matthew Hardeman joined River Jetty Restaurant Group as General Manager of CdM Restaurant in December 2017 and brought with him 23 years of collective management, hospitality, and restaurant experience. After four years with the restaurant group, his role was elevated to Director of Operations in 2021.
Prior to joining RJRG, Matthew worked for Hillstone Restaurant Group. During 12 years with the company, Matthew developed skills in nearly every facet of the business, climbing the ranks from server and bartender to trainer and shift leader before being promoted to manager and finally senior manager.
Hardeman believes that his career highlights are nestled into the great experiences that he and his team at River Jetty Restaurant Group help create for guests on a daily basis. Helping carry out River Jetty Restaurant Group’s genuine culture of care and hospitality each day is one of Matthew’s greatest accomplishments and one he strives to achieve at each new restaurant he helps open with the group.
In his free time, Matt cherishes spending time with his two daughters. As a proud girl dad, everything he does is for them.
